The First Annual Homeward Bound Mega Pet Adoption Event held at Yucaipa Regional Park June 16th and 17th was a huge success in which 163 homeless pets found their way into new loving homes. This event was a collaboration between the County of San Bernardino, Humane Society of San Bernardino Valley, Yucaipa Animal Placement Society, Animals aRe First Fund, and County Regional Parks.

Fifteen animal organizations attended the event, showcasing over 200 available dogs and cats

awaiting their opportunity to be homeward bound.  Both rescue groups and municipal shelters were in attendance, representing the vast array of animal welfare organizations throughout the Inland Empire and beyond.

In addition to the wide variety of adoptable pets, low cost vaccinations, micro-chipping, and licensing were all offered for existing pet owners, with 481 vaccinations administered, 101 dog licenses sold and 82 microchips implanted at the end of the two day event.

Twenty two vendors from throughout Southern California, also came out to support the cause, offering a large selection of their animal related products, including three dog training organizations that conducted on site demonstrations; freshly prepared food; face painting, blow-up rock walls and bounce houses for the kids.
