At Yucaipa Animal Placement Society we have many wonderful dogs, cats, puppies, and kittens available for adoption. We rescue pets from local shelters and take in pets from owners can no longer care for them and we house them at the YAPS rescue facility until they are adopted.

The adoption fee includes spay or neuter surgery, vaccinations and a microchip for dogs and spay or neuter surgery and vaccines for cats. We do a thorough assessment of the animal’s temperament and needs so that we can find both them and you the companion of a lifetime. Our goal is to adopt out our pets into permanent, loving homes and our staff is here to help you choose a pet that will fit in with your lifestyle and bring harmony to your home.

Our Adoption Process

We always ask that the dog(s) that are part of your family come in to meet their new potential canine pal.  If you are renting, we need landlord approval before the pet can go home. We require that you meet a pet in person before adopting. At the time of meeting you will be asked to complete an adoption inquiry form which will allow us to perform a virtual home visit via Google Maps.

Puppies under 6 months go home through our Foster-to-Adopt Program. Our Foster-to-Adopt program is an agreement made that the puppy is brought back to YAPS  bi-weekly to complete vaccine boosters, and at 4-5 months to complete the Rabies vaccine and spay/neuter. This program requires a $450.00 commitment and $100.00 will be refunded when spay/neuter is complete and final paperwork processed.

Our facility is first come, first served. We recommend calling to get the status of the pet you are interested in before driving out.

You can meet available pets Tuesday through Saturday from 11am-4pm.
