Open your home to a pet in Need

Be A Foster

Foster arrangements are made for pets that need a little extra TLC. Fosters can choose from a weekend assignment, one – two week assignments or for the duration of pet’s needs. YAPS will provide food, bedding, bowls and veterinary care. We ask that fosters provide a cozy home with the opportunity for the pet to receive love and socialization. Basic animal care is also required. If possible, we ask that fosters write a short synopsis about the pet that we may share in hopes of attracting an adopter.

We require that cats stay indoors at all times and that dogs have access to the outdoors and sleep indoors.

Be the Difference

Pet Hospice

Would you like to open up your home to a pet in need of hospice care. YAPS is able to accept pets in need of hospice care as funds permit and as fosters are available. We intake approximately 5 hospice pets per year.

The hospice program requires pets go into a qualified foster home. Medical care and all financial responsibility is covered by YAPS while the pet remains in hospice. When the time comes for the pet to cross the rainbow bridge, we ask the foster to be present for the pet’s final moments. Fosters are allowed to adopt the pet if they choose but it is not required. If an adoption occurs, the adopter takes on financial responsibility of the pet.

Save Lives

Make a Donation

Donations to YAPS allow us to carry out the mission to save more lives. In 2021, 58% of YAPS funding came from private donations. At YAPS, your donation makes a big difference to a pet in need. Not every pet we rescue is in perfect health. Donations provide the means to get pet’s the veterinary care they need and deserve.
