I've found my furever family!

Frank (692)

We're happy to tell you that Frank (692) has a new furever home.

FRANK is a male-neutered short hair black/white tuxedo feline about 2 years old.  He was abandoned at YAPS over a year ago.  He wouldn’t let staff approach him, and couldn’t be caught in a humane trap, so he lived on YAPS grounds for rodent control.  Recently he disappeared for about a month, then returned to YAPS with facial cuts and a limp due to a painful rear leg, apparently due to cat fight injuries.  In contrast to his prior behavior, he accepted staff handling him.  Veterinarian evaluation when being neutered showed no bone fracture, but soft-tissue injury of a rear leg, and FIV+.  We find Frank to be calm, gentle, very handsome, exceptionally loving, and now appreciative of the safety of the YAPS cat enclosure.  He always comes to you for affection from his resting place, “talking” to you with meows, and nuzzles/licks you. He LOVES being petted, or held in your lap/arms as long as you wish - usually nuzzles you, may lick you, and frequently rolls over for stomach rubs.  He does not get along with other cats, but does get along with dogs.  Because of his calm, exceptionally loving nature, Frank is a staff & volunteer favorite.      Frank has Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV, similar to human AIDS, except no treatment is needed), which causes impairment of his immune system, but no symptoms.  He needs regular checks by a veterinarian, to check for possible dental problems or infections. The virus can only be transmitted by a deep bite wound (which is extremely unlikely by a neutered cat), or blood, & isn’t transmissible to other animal species or humans.  With regular veterinary checks, Frank should live a happy, essentially normal life, as your devoted, exceptionally loving companion.
