Yucaipa Animal Placement Society (YAPS) will consider adoptive families for puppies and kittens less than 6 months of age in the Yucaipa and surrounding areas only. This is simply due to logistics and distance of travel for our volunteers and adoptive families when it comes to preventative care provided in the adoption contract. However, out-of-state adoptions for adult dogs and cats will be considered on a case by case basis. Our goal is to make the best rescue match taking into consideration the animal's background and your family's needs. Every animal is different: personality, temperament, energy, comfort with kids and other animals, medical needs and more. We take all these factors into consideration when making a furever-home match. We are very careful about the placements we make. We do our best to match the right animal with the right adoptive home because we want this to be the pet's permanent home.
We appreciate you wanting to bring a animal into your home. In order for us to find the right pet for you, we need you to submit an adoption application.
We will review your application upon receipt. If we have any questions or concerns, we will contact you for clarity.
Finding Your Pet
Once approved to adopt, the search for your animal begins. Volunteers will begin to evaluate pets currently in our foster care program who may be a good fit for you and your family. We would also be open to discussing animals in our care that you are specifically interested in.
We will not discuss adoption details regarding any particular animal if you have not yet applied to adopt.
Yucaipa Animal Placement Society (YAPS) relies on a small staff and volunteers for daily operations of our non-profit organization. We will make every effort to respond to inquiries in a timely manner. Please be patient with us…the animals need our time too.
All animals are spayed/neutered, microchipped and up-to-date on all shots prior to adoption
Adoption fees range from $40 to $550, based on the age and health of each individual animal.
