Volunteer With Us

Help advocate for YAPS at events! This opportunity includes helping set up or break down at events, talking to the public about all things YAPS, showing off adoptable animals, and helping get the most out of fundraising!

Help the animals in need at YAPS by socializing with them one on one or in a group! This could include- going for walks with adoptable pets (must have experience), playing with cats in cattery, socializing with puppy or kitten litters that aren't ready for adoption but need socialization skills, and  reading books to adoptables in kennels or in cattery!

Help the Team at YAPS connect the right animals to potential adopters! This opportunity offers unique interactions with the human and animal variety, and is great for those that enjoy customer service!

**This opportunity requires a minimum of a weekly 2 hour commitment! And will involve training/education!*

Help Team YAPS with daily cleaning tasks! This would include cleaning our main kennels or cattery, washing dishes and laundry, and sanitizing toys and other items for pets to use! We will provide training and a free YAPS shirt!

Join the Wags n Walks volunteers on the 2nd Saturday of every month (weather permitting) to walk some of our adoptable dogs offsite. The walk is 2 miles on uneven terrain but includes a rest stop allowing dogs and walkers a break and time to take a drink of water and socialize with their walker including being brushed or read to. Public participants must be 16 years old to walk a dog (if under 16 consider volunteering for our Pawsitive Reading Program).
