LYDIA is a female-spayed short hair grey (possible Russian Blue mix) young adult cat. She was born about Aug. 2022, rescued by a kind person as a stray kitten, then accepted by YAPS that same month. She was adopted from YAPS Nov. 2022, but was relinquished back to YAPS Mar. 2025 because a family member had developed an allergy to cats. We find Lydia to be friendly, loving, & pretty. She’s independent, but affectionate on her terms – when and how. She usually comes to you for affection from her resting place. She likes being petted (especially on her head), and accepts being held for short periods. If over-stimulated, she may give gentle “love bites” when being petted. Lydia does NOT get along well with other cats. She must be the only cat in the home. If she’s the only cat, she’s happy and loving. When adopted, she'll do best if she’s initially placed in a "Safe Room," to gradually acclimatize to her new home. She'll let you know when she's comfortable enough to be let out to explore and enjoy her new home.
