I've found my furever family!

Poppy (615)

We're happy to tell you that Poppy (615) has a new furever home.
Please visit our Available cats Page to see the pups currently available.

POPPY is a female-spayed short hair grey tabby adult feline, with white lower face, neck & front paws.  She was born about mid-2018.  We don’t have information about her initial rescue.  Her owner died some time back, then her male caretaker relinquished her to YAPS mid-June 2024, because he was unable to continue caring for her.  Poppy hasn’t had much human interaction for the past 2-3 years.  She is stressed & fearful because of the loss of her prior owner & home, so spends most of her time in her sleeping space, and doesn’t come to strangers.  Because of her stress & fear, when approached she often lays her ears back, trembles with fear, breathes rapidly, & may strike out.  She needs to be approached slowly & gently, and seems to relate best to females. She likes hearing music.  When female staff members sit near her cat tree with music playing, she may come to them to be petted.  She does not get along with other cats or dogs - must be the only animal in the home.
