I'm ready for my new family!

VALENTINE is a male-neutered medium hair white adult feline.  He was born about Nov. 2018, adopted by an older lady at an unknown date, then rescued by YAPS (as a bonded pair with Shade) as an owner surrender late March 2024, when the owner no longer could care for them when she moved to an assisted living facility.  Per the prior owner: Valentine slept on the owner’s bed, & likes to get “up high” on cat trees.  He’s initially shy with strangers, prefers to be left alone in “his space” – may scratch you if pursued.  However, if you give him time to know you & be comfortable with you, he’s very loving on his terms.  He may come to you for affection from his resting place, purring. He may jump into your lap if you’re sitting, & loves being petted – purrs, nuzzles you & may roll over for stomach rubs.  He & Shade are bonded.  He hates being in a small, confining cat carrier, & strongly prefers to be in a VERY spacious carrier.  Valentine is accustomed to living in a quiet, stable home with an older person.  He is stressed by active, boisterous young children.  He’ll do best in a quiet home without young children, especially if initially placed in a “safe room” (ideally with Shade) to minimize the stress of moving.  Once accustomed to his new home, he should be very affectionate.
